Since the NSW Government Return and Earn Container Deposit Scheme commenced in December 2017, Lane Cove Council has requested Tomra the operator of the scheme to assess a number of sites within the Lane Cove LGA to host a reverse vending machine. Deputy Opposition Leader Penny Sharpe today announced that a Daley Labor Government will invest $1.8 million in priority actions towards making Parramatta River swimmable again by 2025.
Ms Sharpe was joined at a proposed future swim site at Putney Park by Labor candidates Jerome Laxale for Ryde, Andrew Zbik for Lane Cove, and Tom Hore for Drummoyne, to promise the funding.

Under Labor, NSW will become the first state in Australia to deliver 100 per cent of the standard level of funding for every student.
