LABOR ANNOUNCES ANDREW ZBIK AS CANDIDATE FOR LANE COVE STATE ELECTORATE

Lane Cove resident, Andrew Zbik has been officially endorsed as the NSW Labor Party candidate for the seat of Lane Cove at the 2015 NSW State Election.

Lane Cove has traditionally been a safe Liberal seat, although Mr. Zbik says this can’t continue to be taken for granted at the expense of its residents. “The electorate also now incorporates Gladesville and parts of Ryde. We are experiencing pressures on local schools, roads and healthcare as the population grows in the electorate. Simply privatising services that the State Liberals plan to do, means less accessible and less affordable services to local residents”.

Mr. Zbik is passionate about ensuring NSW’s education and health systems continue to be universal in providing education and care to all citizens.

Mr. Zbik has been a rank-and-file member of the Labor Party since 2007 and President of the Lane Cove Branch since 2011. He presently works as a strategy focused fee-for-service Financial Advisor in Sydney’s CBD. His dual qualifications in both Law and Finance provide a sound foundation for researching, developing and communicating Labor policy in the interest of the Lane Cove electorate.

Mr Zbik lives with his wife Bronwyn and has been an active member of the Macquarie University Rowing Club since 2001 and contested the 2012 Local Government Elections as a candidate for West Ward in the Lane Cove Council local Government area. Other organisations that Mr. Zbik has volunteered for previously include Rotary International and the National Student Leadership Forum.
