MORATORIUM ON RESIDENTAL PLANNING PROPOSALS IN THE LANE COVE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

SIGN BELOW TO SLOW DOWN DEVELOPMENT IN LANE COVE

We are seeking a moratorium to stop developers being able to change local planning rules to suit them until local infrastructure can catch up to current development.

Did you know that developers can ask the State Government to change local planning rules set by Council?

They can also appeal to the State Government to ask for environmental rules to be changed if they can’t get their plans passed by Council.

Lane Cove has already exceeded the 2021 Housing Target set by the State Government.

The NSW State Government has still not released the Land Use Infrastructure and Implementation Plan (LUIIP) that would explain how it will help Lane Cove provide upgraded services to its residents.

Until we have that plan, development must slow down!

We, the undersigned, demand a moratorium on residential planning proposals in the Lane Cove Local Government Area until the NSW Government releases its Land Use Infrastructure and Implementation Plan (LUIIP) and any changes to the Lane Cove Local Environment Plan have been gazetted.

Lane Cove has done more than its fair share of developing additional medium & high density housing, compared to other suburbs in Sydney. Our local amenity and standard of living has now been compromised as a result. Too much congestion on the roads, higher school intakes, poor parking and public transport services means residents are unhappy with the result, and we will not be voting for any government that continues to promote high population targets for Sydney. Development must STOP until planning and new infrastructure is in place to cope with the growth that has been inflicted on us. We want a better NOT bigger Australia.
